We are one of the six teams part of the Vandegrift Viperbots robotics program in Austin, Texas. Our primary focus is to develop skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) by participating in the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) robotics competition. We promote teamwork, problem solving, and critical thinking through our determination and embodiment of "Gracious Professionalism".

Our Mission

Our mission is to design and build a robot that effectively and efficiently completes the given tasks while generating long lasting friendships and developing skills for the future. We strongly believe in promoting STEM and the core values of FIRST in both our local and global community, something which, along with our mission, is evident in all that we do and is our main driving force.

Our History

Our team was started in the 2012-2013 season, "Ring it Up!" where we excelled in the competition, advancing to the 2013 FTC World Championship. In the following two seasons, SnakeByte advanced to the Alamo Regional Championship, but sadly not any farther. Now, with a brand new team in tow, we are looking to reclaim our previous prestige, inspiring an interest in STEM wherever we go.

Our Team

This year, we have 12 total members comprised of 5 females and 7 males. We have 4 veterans and 8 rookies ranging from freshman to juniors. We are learning valuable life skills such as leadership, compromise, conflict management, and an array of technical skills including programming, wiring, efficient design, and custom fabrication. We are looking forward to competing this year!
